The Artist Paradise eBook Pamela Wetterman Reviews
An interesting book and a good look at the marriage and following dreams. It was interesting to find out how it would end and if she would see that things were too good to be true with the art instructor.
I'm not usually a romance fan but I may become one after reading Pam Wetterman's novel. This book has a very solid structure with plots and subplots cleverly interwoven. The story is told from both male and female points of view, with the protagonists overcoming separate, seemingly insurmountable obstacles to--you guessed it--true, enduring love. The narraters move along separate character arcs in different geographic locations until they intersect in a dramatic climax . . .and live happily ever after? Maybe and maybe not, because everything about their lives has changed. Things are mostly better, and their romance is definitely in high gear but there is a villain who may still have an agenda of his own. I'm looking forward to seeing these characters reappear in Pam Wetterman's future novels.
This was a very good book about the different paths in life available for us to choose from that allow us find ourselves. Follow the character's through the ups and downs of their journey as they chase their dreams. =)
I enjoyed this book. The characters and plot were well developed. I rarely find time to read much anymore just for enjoyment but my time was well spent. It allowed me to dive into the book and forget about my life for a while and relax.
Yes, I would read another book written by this author.
I downloaded it on kindle and the formatting does need work.
This is only one of a few books that held my attention through one continuous reading, a real page turner. The characters are well-developed and thought out, the plot thickens throughout the book and climaxes with a fight for true love. I will keep Pam Wetterman's name on my author buy list.
The Artist’s Paradise by Pamela Wetterman isn’t your normal run-of-the-mill romance novel and this reader appreciates that. Most are about a young woman meeting a young man, both are great looking with the world at their beck and call. Angie and Jonathan Rhodes definitely are not that kind of couple.
Jonathan, 8 years older than his wife, Angie, is a hard working attorney trying to make partner in the firm so that Angie will have everything she wants. This leads to many nights of missing dinners, not coming home at all and allows the imagination of Angie to run wild with thoughts of another woman.
Angie gave up her dream of being a world class painter when she married Jonathan. Now that she is alone most of the time she talks mostly to her best human friend, Vicki, and her best animal friend, Mister Tubbs. Unfortunately, Angie and Jonathan don’t talk as much. This leads to confusion and isolation for both of them.
When Vicki and Angie take a weekend visit to see Vicki’s daughter at college, Angie meets a professor who allegedly sees her hidden talent and offers to help her become famous. Vicki and Jonathan don’t have a good feeling about this, but Angie wants to rediscover her passion.
What happens next I will not divulge as I hate spoilers. What I will say is that the reader is taken on an emotional roller coaster of excitement and twists and turns that they do not expect. This reader found many different lessons in this fictional account of companionship and marriage. The main ones are that people aren’t always what they seem and the only way to make a marriage work is to communicate.
Pamela Wetterman has penned a fantastic story, one which kept my interest from page one. The story of Angie and Jonathan could be anyone’s story. Life is full of choices and only you can choose which way is correct for you.
I don’t recommend many books because we all read them with a difference mind, but this one I can recommend to anyone. Those who like romance novels will find bits and pieces that they will enjoy. Those who read mysteries will find this to their liking also. If psychological thrillers are your favorite this book will appeal to you also. And if you just like great written books with a plot that will keep you turning the page this is the book for you. So grab your favorite beverage, cuddle up in a warm blanket and let this book take you away and possibly make you think a little different about life in general.
Kudos to Pamela for executing what I see as the perfect book for anyone!
Along with solidly written characters, the visuals invite you in to an amazing brownstone on Chicago's Gold Coast, as well as a seemingly cozy "artist's paradise," located far away from Lake Michigan. She perceives herself to be a trophy wife, but unwittingly becomes the project of a man much older than her husband, Jonathan. Here is the conundrum of a young wife who has everything, and a husband who takes her for granted. Can becoming a famous water colorist change things for Angie?
