Radiant Shadows Wicked Lovely Melissa Marr Books

I was trying to put off reading Radiant Shadows until it got closer to the release day of Darkest Mercy, and now I think that was probably a mistake. I should've have read it and waited like everyone else because going back into the series after not reading it for a while was a bit confusing and it took me a little bit to get into again. It was like starting the series and getting acquainted with the faery world that Melissa created all over again, so I probably won't be making that mistake again.

Radiant Shadows was still beautifully written just like all of the other ones. This one didn't have much of Seth and Ash, but we do get a few glimpses and definitely some more secrets revealed about Seth. The story focuses on Devlin, and if you remember from Fragile Eternity he is the one that does all the dirty deeds for Sorcha, the high Queen that lives in Faery. The other main character in the story is Ani one of the halflings, sister to Rabbit and daughter of Gabriel the Hound for the Dark Court. Even though I love the main story of Ash, Seth and Keenan I really enjoy the ones that Melissa Marr created with all these side characters that you really don't pay much attention to on the other books, but they play a very important role in this Faery world.

It did take me quite a while to get to that part of the book where I just couldn't put it down, I think it was mainly the reading mood I was in, but it wasn't until I was halfway throgh when I really got into it. Radiant Shadows was told from the point of view of Devlin and Ani but there's also another new character called Rae, a dreamwalker who's responsible for Devlin and Ani getting together and having this deep connection. This one was still pretty intense and dark just like the other books in this series. The faery world is starting to fall apart as the evil Bannanach tries to gain more power over her sister Sorcha by using Ani and planning to kill Niall and Seth. Devlin and Ani play a very important part in shifting everything to a different path and changing the Faery realm once again.

I love that we get a lot of the dark court in this one so we get to see my favorite characters from Ink Exchange, Niall and Irial. We also get a huge background on Faery and some really great character development. We get a lot of answers in this one and a few secrets that I think will be a pivotal part in the next book, I'm actually very nervous now about what might happen on the last book. Radiant Shadows was definitely an important book in the series, dark and at times very sad but with amazing characters and a plot that changes the course of things and should definitely not be missed.

Radiant Shadows Wicked Lovely Melissa Marr Books Reviews

I haven't read this book yet because I'm still on book prior but I without a doubt know that Melissa Marr continued this wonderful series with even more intriguing content than the one before. I suggest getting the entire series.
I don't know how she does it but here is another unique story in this series. Usually by now in a series I am seeing way to much content on the first characters and fading off from the main people in the story but not here. This story is about Dev and Ani and you really get to know these two and enjoy their personalities and their trials. this was interesting from the first page and the way they handled the problem was even more clever. I love reading books by Melissa Marr and will pick up every book she writes. If you want to enjoy your book root for the underdogs and just enjoy being satisfied at the end of the story then you definatley need to pick up Radiant Shadows!
**SPOILER**

I LOVED this book. Ani is such an interesting character and Devlin is jut...yum. Rae was cute and a little quirky, but she wasn't a total airhead and we got to see into Ani and Tish's life a little more. Plus, IRIAL!!! I love him, he's so freaking amazing. Sorcha was a witch with an attitude problem and Seth seemed a little...less stupid in this novel. I admit that I wanted to strangle him in Fragile Eternity (Wicked Lovely, Book 3).

I kind of wish that there was more notice of the fact that Keenan was missing. It was kind of mentioned in passing, but no one did much with that. I know that this was Ani and Devlin's story, but still. The Summer King is missing and no one cares? Seems a little odd to me. I loved Barry too. He was a kick butt Baracuda with a sassy attitude!

I was mildy confused about Gabriel though. Was that his name or his job?

Other than that, I really enjoyed this book and can't wait to get my hands on the last one, Darkest Mercy (Wicked Lovely)!
Melissa Marr has done it again; written an incredible story about faeries that are both utterly immortal and all-too-human. To my surprise, Radiant Shadows is about Ani, younger sister of Rabbit, a tattoo artist who plays important roles in earlier books, and daughter of the Gabriel Hound and a mortal woman. Unlike her sister and best friend, Ani is by far more faerie than mortal, but her father and brother think she's too weak to be a hound, one of the elite warriors of the Dark Court. None of them know that Ani's been in danger all her life; Devlin, the brother and assassin of Sorcha, queen of the high court, has orders to kill Ani, which he disobeys at the advice of his ghostly friend, Rae. Through a chain of events, Devlin and Ani meet, and start falling for each other at once. Ani will have to be as strong as any full-fledged hound to survive Devlin's deadly sisters, and Devlin must use his deadly powers for himself, not Sorcha, if he is to protect Ani. And Rae, by trying to avoid Sorcha's wrath, may endanger all of faerie...
Super awesome story, one of Mellissa Marr's best. Leslie does not come into the story, nor do Aislinn or Donia or Keenan have important roles. But Niall, Rabbit, Irial, Seth, Sorcha, and Bannanach all have major roles. The love story between Devlin and Ani is incredible; a love that should be impossible, that happens in the most unexpected ways. The end of the book is very well done, very surprising, and makes me very eager to read the final novel, Darkest Mercy....to be released in February 2011.
